課程概述 |
Course Description:
This course exposes students to the theory and practice of Chinese-English and English-Chinese translation in greater depth and breadth. Students will have hands-on experience in translating different types of books for children. Issues related to the translation of children’s literature will be discussed under the framework of translation theories. |
課程目標 |
Course Objectives:
The course aims to equip students with analytical skills and the ability to translate children’s literature through different genres. By the end of the course, the students are expected to acquire a solid grounding in a range of ideas within translation studies and apply this to the translation of children’s literature, reflect on translation, and formulate critical analyses of translated texts. |

Requirements:
Please submit your work on time. Delayed submission will NOT be accepted on any account.
Students who come in class more than 5 minutes late will be marked absent for the entire 2-hour-class period.
Students absent three times or more without cause will receive 0 credits. If you are absent in case of uncontrollable situations (e.g. illness, emergency, important occasions, etc.), please apply for a leave on the 'Student Leave Request System'.
Please show up on time for your group presentation. Lateness or rearrangements for group presentation will NOT be accepted. |
